In researching our prospective near-future world and creating my own version of it in Lifespinners, I accumulated a library of around 3,500 English-language articles published variously in scientific magazines and quality newspapers, by The Conversation (UK, Europe and Global editions), by the BBC in its science publications, on future-oriented web platforms and in other formats aimed at the interested lay reader, as well as specialists. The library continues to expand and every month reveals a wealth of fascinating new ideas and discoveries.
This website highlights the Lifespinners threads of Longevity & Rejuvenation, Regeneration & Enhancement, Radical life extension & Immortality and Brain & Mind, plus the related topics of Animal talents & Superpowers and Space travel & Survival. My library also has sections devoted to other issues within the overarching subject of Human Reshaping, such as Love, Sex & Intimacy and Consciousness & Inner Space. As the website evolves and I gather new material while writing my next novel, I plan to add more overview pieces, according to the interests of readers and the latest advances in exploration and research. The current themes will also be regularly updated.
Looking ahead, I hope to team up with others and extend our site publicity to include near-future and speculative books (fiction and non-fiction) and special events such as conferences, shows, festivals, film premieres and exhibitions. Guest podcasts and blogs may follow, with a range of invited contributions from researchers, writers, professional practitioners, social innovators and lay commentators.
